    This could go in the Sprint Thread or the EVO thread. I put it here cuz there's more traffic here.

    So I went into a Sprint store today to have them run my credit to see if I would have to put down a deposit on my new EVO contract (since I don't have the best credit). So he runs it, and says I'm approved for 3 phones on my account with no deposit. I only need 1 phone, so, awesome. He then went into "sell" mode, saying he could get me to walk out with a new phone today. I told him it wasn't gonna happen. I have a phone prepaid on TMo til June, and will then pick up the EVO.

    Without divulging too many specific details in case Sprint ppl are watching, I signed a new 2 yr contract for a cheap flip phone just so he can get me on the Sprint books as a new customer, I had my activation fee waived, exchange/restocking fee waived (when I upgrade to the EVO), he's holding an EVO aside for me so I can pick it up that day (the night before it at all possible), and i'm getting a 27% discount every month that I may or may not truly deserve (that will in affect negate the extra $10/month EVO fee).

    That is going above and beyond for your customer. Can't wait til the 4th!

    Thats cool. I'm in the same boat. My credit isnt the best and I was thrilled to know that I didnt have to put down a deposit. I will always keep an extra hundred just in case lol.

    Its so easy to lose the truly great customer service stories like this among the pages of whining.

    I'm happy to hear that you had a good experience. I have never had bad luck with sprint so I hate it when people don't get what they need from them. Happy to see another person crossing over the Sprint for this SWEET phone.

    Why would you tell people about this? Now everyone is going to try to get that 27% discount and they will have to stop doing it haha

    The discount is easy. Your just need to work for the right company and be a member of a credit union. I am. Or aren't :whistling:

    Can you get both discounts? I get 15% from my company and am a member of a credit union. Also, would the credit union stack with employee referral discount?

    If you find the right person they'll sign you up for anything.
    I was put down for both but got an email later saying I was not eligible at the time because I was on the Simply-Everything plan. When I switched to the 1500 family plan I found I'm getting more than the credit union discount so I'll assume so.
    I never honestly checked on that I'm getting. I'm just happy I'm getting something :)

    That's messed up if you ask me. Its great for you, but I couldn't even talk them into a $10 a month service discount for renewing my contract and I have been with them for 10 years. Maybe I need to call back and talk to someone else.

    Sprint Doesn't do "Deposits" Like VZW and ATT... They just put you on this "plan" where you have an "Allowance" . . . Like me I have $150 Allowance... if I pass that they will shut the phone off... asap from what I was told....

    I'm approved for 2 lines on sprint.... Which equals to paying a deposit of $500 on ATT and $400 on VZW... cuz I tried both.

    Its almost the same thing as TMO where they just push you off to those "Everything PLUS" plans where you technically pay before the month starts... Its just their way of getting new customers easier

    You can't stack discounts on the employee referral accounts. The only way is thru mix ups in the system that have been reported to happen in the past.
