Seriously. When you are using the navigator, if you zoom all the way in on the upcoming next location, it gives you an actual real-life satellite image of the street/intersection, etc. SO AMAZING!

Silly question that nobody may know yet, but how "fast" is the Incredible GPS? Is it one of the older chips that can only do 1Hz updates, or is it a newer model that can do 4-5hz (or even 10 on the newest)? I ask, since that is one of the things about the old GPS's that i hate - driving along at 60+ means alot of distance happens between updates...

I was blown away by the GPS receiver in this phone. Coming from a Samsung Omnia and TomTom, I can say that this is the BEST GPS I have ever used. It takes my TomTom maybe 40 seconds to lock, my Omnia about 1-2 minutes. This thing? Literally 3-15 seconds depending on indoors/outdoors.

The update interval seems very fast as well. As soon as you turn it recognizes a change, even walking around you can walk in a small circle and the arrow moves right along with you, it's great. Good riddance TomTom :D

In reply to my last post, I mean the direction of the arrow, as well as the arrow's location.

Apparently you've never used the Motorola Motonav TN765t. ;)

That is the best GPS I have ever used to this day. With that being said, the Incredible is excellent in its own right and I will definitely be using it for shorter trips around town and stuff when I don't want to pull out the suction mount and everything else for my Motorola.

Sorry to ask this as I know this is a stupid question, but are you using Google Maps/Directions feature or the VZW navigator?
    Thanks!

Considering that GPS costs ($~300) nearly twice what some people paid for the Incredible ($150), I'd hope so, lol...

Well yeah, but I thought it would mention it. :p

Also, Newegg had the TN765t for $200 not too long ago. ;)

Anyhow, the Incredible navigation is great in its own right, don't get me wrong. :D

Google Maps is pretty spectacular on the Inc. The first trip I took (car, train, subway and walking) it didn't let me down and (as the OP mentioned) it is pretty sweet to get to your destination and have street view automatically pop up! I was looking out the pass. side window and seeing the same view on the phone!

Open Maps, search for an adress, It will show it on the map. Select it (either on the map or press the trackball button) and choose "Get directions." Thenyou will see an icon at the top for navigation. It looks like a screen (box) with an arrow pointing ahead and then to the right (I think, this is from memory). Tap that and it will navigate you to that location with spoken street names and everything :D

My car has Bluetooth audio and I tested out the navigation with it. I was also listening to Slaker Radio and the nav would cut into the song, give me directions and then go back to the music. It was Incredible!!!

The easiest way to use the navigator is to simply hit the magnifying glass hard key and say "Navigate to Geary and 9th" or "Navigate to In n Out Burger", or wherever you're going and it will automatically start the navigation. Also, you can listen to music on Pandora while the navigation is working. Each time there is a new direction, the music stops and the direction is given, then it goes back to the music. It really is seamless and very impressive!
