I'm currently using the Amzer case that has the clear plastic back with the TPU black sides. I don't like the look of a clear case from the front, but the back looks so nice that I didn't want to hide it.

The build quality is not very good though. The sides don't sit flush and the first time I tried to remove it, part of the area where the clear meets the black came apart.

Is there another case maker that makes a hybrid style case like this with a clear back and non-clear border? Something with better build quality?

I like the idea for sure..but no have not seen anything like that. One could accomplish it on their own with something like

evo crystal clear case items - Get great deals on Cell Phones PDAs, Electronics items on eBay.com!
and doing one of two thihngs...using rubberized coating like sold at hardware stores for replacing missing rubberized grip on hand tools and coating just the outsides or by painting the edges

the crystal clear cases from hong kong are super stury...but they block the front facing camera just a tiny bit. (easy fix)

mine was awesome until I cut it to accommodate my extended battery...then it fell apart

Thanks for the interesting idea. I might try this out if my current case falls apart even worse.
