As you guys are all aware, the motorola milestone (GSM Droid) that has been released in Canada isn't rootable (at time of this writing).

I've searched around to see if anyone has posted this and have come up empty handed.

As Verizon and Telus are both CDMA networks.. is it not possible to bring a droid up here and use it? Are the networks not the same?

The device can be unlocked to work with any carrier can't it?

    Thanks.
    Y.

Telus uses both CDMA and GSM networks. However they (or any other CDMA carrier) will not allow a phone from another carrier to operate on there network except for roaming deals. And no it cannot be unlocked to work with any carrier, only GSM phones can do that. The Milestone is rootable but the bootloader is locked down so you can't do much to it.

Yea I didn't realize it hadn't been rooted yet. Either way it will still be locked down so no chance of flashing any ROM's or anything.
