i heard thru the grapevine, that froyo update for galaxy s, will make the touch screen less responsive. any validity to that ? i sure would like to know.

You won't get a reliable answer until the update is pushed out OTA. Anything else is speculation.
FYI: Your grapevine sounds flawed. I sincerely doubt the update would cause that.
