No this isn't another 2.1 thread, this is a 2.2 thread
I sure hope this is a joke thread just to piss people off, lol. Sprint is not going to skip 2.1. The Hero can barely handle all of the parts of 2.1 so what would make you think it would handle 2.2?
Do us all a favor and don't bother posting these rumors, pleaseeeeeee!
I don't give a flying shit about some Android blogger's opinion about anything. Nuff said.
but i wanted to be part of the cool crowd
However yes i do want this to just be a rumor. And I hope to god that it is.
We need a dedicated "rumor" thread...
EDIT: and probably a prophylactic (errr, protection, screen protector/cases) thread
Someone should make a rumor thread and we should vote to have it stickied!
The nearly-official Sprint release of 2.1 has been leaked for quite some time. It is fairly obvious that they are almost done testing it, and then everyone will have it.
Thinking about this... wouldn't the 2.1 thread suffice?
I suppose but then it would become obsolete once 2.1 is released.. hence the need for a general rumor thread
Could just be re-named "Update Rumors"
Would that be now or when 2.1 comes out?
.... or "Release/Update Rumors [Fact or Fiction]"
Why not now? ^ I like this!
I think they are mistaken...sprint is surely releasing 2.1 in the (semi?) near future.
PM'ed Phases... we'll see what he says.
So hopefully he'll have something set up for us tomorrow!
NP! I figured it was just easier if he (or another mod) took care of it rather than us trying to get it to happen.
Tik tok........tik tok
Check It Out Guys :- Android 2.2 Runing On Htc Hero
YouTube - Android 2.2 on HTC Hero
Just to point out, this is not a Sprint CDMA Hero
Opss Sorry I Kinda forget its GSM Version.
Although this is not a CDMA Hero, the cellular frequencies and receivers/transmitters don't have any bearing on the CDMA Hero's ability to run 2.2. The receiver/transmitter is the only difference between the CDMA and GSM Hero. Otherwise the hardware is identical. If this one can run 2.2, the CDMA can as well. The real question is how the update will be delivered. First HTC will have to develop Sense UI for 2.2, and then it will have to be pushed to the phones. It's anyone's guess whether or not Sprint will be pushing out a 2.2 update for the Hero, although it is unlikely. It will probably fall to the devs over at XDA for that.
