I have HTC Hero and my Missis has Nexus One.

Yesterday I late to work for 2 hours because my Hero alarm has switched to "silence" automatically and it doesn't make any noise now.

And today my Missis was late for another 2 hours because her N1 was on charging and alarm sound was chosen from one of her mp3s and alarm didn't work at all.

So the price I paid for this 2 phones is going up :) :) :)

Does anyone had any issues with alarms and how to fix them?

My solution to the 'alarm bug' was to not use a task killer on the clock application...

How about digging out your old working alarm clock that you can leave on your nightstand or desk instead of relying on a phone that may or may not wake you up.

    Agree with Fatal.

If you use a task killer put the clock in ignore list.

Actually its in ignore list. I noticed that if you put a custom ringtone(not the original alarm sounds) on alarm and "repeat" is set to "never" it won't work.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, but I didn't sleep in 2 hours, more like 10 mins.
I dont think my task killer automatically killed the clock app, I probably did by accident.

It's weird that the phone can still tell you that there is an alarm set in the notification icons but cant tell that the clock app isnt running.

So you in effect didn't set the alarm.

When it set to "repeat never" it should work once at the time you set it(i.e. if now it's 12:30 and you set it for 4:30 it should work next morning at 4:30 once)

It doesn't. HTC Sense and/or Android phones have never worked like that.

You must set the day of the alarm if you want it to work.

That's the case. It used to work before like that, but after changing ringtone to mp3s it just stopped.

Especially since the N1's speakers aren't exactly loud. Would make as poor alarm even if it's working the way you want it.

I disagree. I have the rooster alarm set. My phone rests screen up on top of its pouch on my bedside table. Every time that little bugger goes off I jump out of my skin.

My problem with the alarm is that after pressing 'dismiss' or whatever it is, the screen doesn't turn back off. Often I'll have two alarms set ten minutes after each other (I can't count on myself to press the snooze button instead of dismiss, wouldn't want to risk it!) and if I actually manage to get up before the second one goes off (somewhat rare) the screen will still be on from me mashing at it 5 minutes previously.

Your next offers will be to get tablet for websurf on the go, get a proper mp3 player to listen to the music, get proper camera to make pictures and so on...

Then what the point of this smartphone if I cannot rely on anything?

I find that if I set the time, make sure I set the day mine works fine.

And, as Oniongirl says - the Rooster alarm is enough to send me through the ceiling - it's horrendously loud!

Just this second had left my phone in my room upstairs and received a message. Sat downstairs with the TV on, the Pixie Dust tone was more than audible.

LOL, wow, lets just make false accusations at everyone!!

I've relied on my phone to get me up for the past 6 years.

The Nexus does a great job, I never changed the alarm from the default ringing sound.
I don't have the option of how often to repeat anything, for me, repeat is M,T,W,T,F,S

I'm sorry I haven't ever set it to a mp3 so I can't comment or help, but I'm worried because I usually need a song to wake me up and if this doesn't work than I, too, will be missing hours at work.

I don't know if its just me but I have to change my alarm tone every month or so or else I get used to the sound/song that plays and I'll keep sleeping.

Don't use a task killer app maybe? Might help to uninstall it.

I still don't understand why people have this unless they are installing rouge apps...

An app to kill background apps that runs in the background...gotta love it.
