You go to install a common app like a calculator and it wants access to your:
Network-based Location, GPS Location, View Network State, View Wi-Fi State, Retrieve Running Apps, Full Internet Access, Read Phone State and Identity, Automatically Start at Boot, Prevent From Sleeping, Modify/Delete SD Card Contents, Send SMS Messages, Contacts, Accounts.o_O

WTF all these Apps developers are lusting for our information.

Is there an app (for rooted phones of course) that acts as a honey pot and gives these info-mongers fake information?:D

Wouldn't it be better to just not install the app? What would be the point of feeding them false information? You are just one data point which would have a minuscule to no effect on the data they are packaging.

That is if they are collecting the data at all. It seems I've heard that most apps asking unnecessary permissions has more to with lazy development (ie they just request all permission without thinking about it) than collecting data to profit off of it. Again why reward them with downloading their app - just move on to something more acceptable.
