Hello everyone. Recently purchased a samsung moment with android 1.5. I'm crazy about this phone. I've been researching on apps shortcuts ect. I was wondering if anyone knew an exact date on the 2.x update and if it will help conserve bat life. Already have everything off dimmed ect. Any news on android is good news!

there is no exact date on the release...as for battery life...who knows until we've got it! I know the 2.1 I use on my Eris has helped immensely. Welcome!

Welcome to android! =) You could try your hand at rooting your phone to get the 2.1 update - at your own risk though, there are definitely sites out there with lots of resources on how to do it. I did it to my eris and I love it.

Well your telling me that I can back up all of my files and then follow a procedure to root 2.1 in my phone? Y havn't I heard about this anywhere else?!?!

Well thanks everyone. No I havn't been online much and I just got this thing on Wednesday I think. Ok, I found a great article on how to do this, but where can I find the kernals (invalid link) and do I need to install them all or just the one for 2.x?
