Android overheating issues

Hello i am new to this forum
i have a samsung prevail from boost mobile and lately ive been dealing with some overheating issues with my phone
i dont do anything on my phone besides texting, occasional calls, and playing music
this overheating only happens at night where i play music as i fall asleep
it hasnt happened before two nights ago
does anyone know what the problem might be??

Is is hooked up to a charger? If so, that might be the problem. Also, could be your cell signal strength is really weak. So the radio is trying to find a stronger signal.

Sometimes when you are charging your phone while still using it, it will tend to get hot. Is the screen on and are you streaming your music thru the internet?

no i have it downloaded and i put it on sleep or whatever

I use Battery Monitor Widget, shows my battery's temperature on a graph by time

i find that my phone and other gadgets get warm if i am using it and charging it too.
