I redid the middle screen, made the statue of liberty into my icons, think it turned out great, and the blue in the picture matches pretty well with the WinMo7 themed tiles.

The phone and Gmail are all part of the SMS Unread Count widget. When you add the widget, change the "Widget Type" selection to "Messaging", "Dialer", or "Gmail".

    Hope this helps!

I personally just use the USB cable and set the phone to "Disk Drive". Then I just drag and drop the files over. Right now, I have the image files on the phone memory (possible under the misconception that they load faster) in the "emmc" folder. There, I just made a folder called "Widget Icon Images" and put everything in there.

Works like gangbusters. Hope this helps!

Seriously guys this is some awesome work but I still am not following why people want their android devices to look like a windows phone????........??????

    paulmz Well-Known Member

Yes, I know. And that is the type of icons that are included in my reskinned SMS Unread widget.

First- this doesn't look exactly like a Windows phone. This has become much more customizable than anything Microsoft can put into a mobile device.

Second- I can only speak for myself, but I personally got (and continue to get) seriously bored by everyone else's layout I see posted in the forums. They are all just the same icons and widgets rearranged with different wallpapers. And those rooting their devices who have their fonts or colors changed... whatever. (Most of them use ugly, display fonts that are not meant to be easily legible as a system-wide font.)

This is the first... and still one of the only layouts I have seen that is so dramatically different than any other that it drew me to really make it my own. With the creation of each and every icon, I made my phone personal to me. (Niteowl's layouts also fall into the "dramatically different" category that really set his work apart from everyone else's.)

It all comes down to this: Do whatever you want... stock, root, flash roms, download icon packs... but no matter what miniscule changes you do - the basic Android UI is still static and dull. Think outside the box and see what you come up with.

What's next? I'm almost done with a fairly functional Star Trek LCARS theme. Just working on a live wallpaper and widgets. Trying to keep pushing the envelope. (Imagine if I knew Java coding? There would be crazy apps galore!)

Anyway... down off my soapbox... thanks for following and admiring our work... even if you don't approve.

Well for some reason they are different on my phone and I just added 11 pixels to the bottom of your icons to get them to 110x136. Did you have multiple versions of the reskinned app?

You are correct that the icons need to be resized... for your device. Don't forget- the apk's that I made use icons specifically sized for a resolution of 480x800. Your DroidX has a resolution of 480x854. So my original icons shouldn't line up perfectly on any device that is not 480x800.

In answer to your question: no, I do not have multiple versions of the reskinned apps. I only did the one version to fit my phone. There were too many tricks and inconsistencies to getting each of the apps' widget images to line up with the Android7 Theme that I limited myself to only reskinning the apps for the 480x800 resolution.

Hey, I just want to make sure that you didn't update the app through the market. The new version is way different and doesn't size the icons the same way.

Sorry... this is the last thing I can think of. That screenshot doesn't make any sense. It would be fine if the icons were just smaller, but they're also 1-pixel lower than the adjacent ones.

    I just don't get it.

    Sorry, again.

Make sure you check "hide icon label" when you're setting up the SMS Unread Count widgets, that will make the icons the right size

Yeah, I don't know where the icons i was using came from, but i had reskinned them and they lined up.

I just redid all the applications for 480x854 screens, here's a screen cap. And if anyone wants them i'll put them on dropbox later tonight for people to download.

But notice the text message, gmail and phone icons i have on this screen are different, i got rid of them and now have the icons above with wording.
