android tether

I just downloaded the tether software onto my Hero but I dont know what to do next. Please help.

What tether app did you put on your phone, and is your Hero rooted?

Pdanet is the software I downloaded, I don't beleive its rooted.

you need to install pdanet on your computer also. I'm pretty sure if you just google pdanet it brings up their web page. then you connect your phone and start pdanet and then on the computer, pdanet should have a connect option. i'm just going off of memory so i can't provide a lot more detail. i believe it can have a conflict with htc sync but i don't recall ever having an issue when i used pdanet.

I also have a htc hero and want to buy an unlocked samsung galaxy tab ...can the hero (sprint) be thethered to the Tab as to access wireless thru hero

Yes it can as long as it is rooted
