I have some problems with this

So I am really doing bad in these "phone jobs" and I'd like to install somehow themes I have found on the internet, but as I said I am not doing well with that and I don't want to do something what can harm my HTC Magic. So, I'd like to ask if some of you can tell me or give me the link where it's told something, how to install them step by step.

My android device is not rooted just for you to know .

get either pandahome, ahome or openhome and download the theme you want and install it in one of those home replacement apps.
