hi, i am new to the forums, and to android... on my ipod touch i have an app called idownloader pro it's main purpose is to download media from the internet for later viewing pictures music movies etc.

however it also has a great built in user agent swapper to report the ipod as either an ipad or firefox on a pc, now ios has no flash support so the firefox option was pretty worthless, however reporting as an ipad would load the "desktop" version of a website youtube, dailymotion etc. and it had the codec to watch flv videos though the built in quicktime player. this is what i use it for.

is there an app that reports your phone (an lg motion 4g in my case) as something that will load up the desktop version of websites, but is smart enough to realize you don't have flash player and plays the video as a mobile video?

i am not super tech savvy when it comes to mobile devices but if someone could give me a step by step on how to set this up you would be my hero

bump..... no one know how to swap the user agent, and either support flash video, or convert the video to playback no a video player on the phone?

You can change the user agent on just about every Android browser easily in settings, and we don't care for downloaders that violate copyrights.

If your motion doesn't have Flash, it's easily found as a sideload.

    thanks early,

like i said i am new to android i never even considered looking for a settings tab in dolphin.... now in regards to a "sideload" how exactly does that work? as in it runs in the back round and when flash is called for it works in the browser? or as in a stand alone FP?

i guess it doesn't really matter, as i really just wanted to be able to watch tube sites both youtube and dailymotion limit content on mobile devices, to say nothing of the more "adult" tube sites who want cash for what they give away on a laptop/pc for free

You'll find a setting that allows you to load apps from sources besides the Play Store (formerly the Market), often called unknown sources, perhaps under security or apps. Check that box.

Courtesy of El Presidente, here's the link to get Flash, surf here on your phone, download - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954255

Install EStrongs File Explorer, pretty handy utility, surf to your browser's download area, tap the install apk and follow the prompts.

Once installed, flash-aware browsers will simply use it. Look for a browser setting marked enable flash or enable plug-ins, set to either on demand or always on.
