What exactly is this folder used for? I seem to recall it gets a mention during a factory reset via cwm, but I have never actually had any files in there. It's been about 2 months since my last reset and it's still empty.

Thanks butty. I seen a few differing explanations, so I have an idea but not 100% sure.
The reason I'm trying to find out is that i'm thinking about putting it in one (or more) of my scripts. I remember seeing that folder getting cleared before. I believe it was in a cwm factory reset but not totally sure. I will pay more attention next time! Until I find everything out about it I won't include it.

That's where application files are stored when "Move to SD card" is selected in Application Management.

So move to sd card definitely does not move to external sd card then?

Edit. Just noticed that folder on external sd card too.
