I've got the 2.2 upgrade to my Desire and very briefly after I installed it, the promised increase in battery life was very evident. THen it started to go downhill again.

On my task monitor a lot of applications are active that I've never started. I've even closed them through my task monitor, only to have them restart themselves (Twitter, for example).

Anyone else seen this? Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

I suggest you read through the forum posts on battery life and task killers. That way you'll understand better how the phone works.

Once you've done that & if you think you still have a problem install Spare Parts and SystemPanel to see what is consuming the battery.

    HTH :D

    Thanks for that.

I've got System Panel Lite installed and it's here I'm seeing a lot of my applications running and marked as Active, but which I've not actually started myself.

I installed SpareParts and set the policy management option to aggressive, but that seemed to restart the phone every time I came out of the menus.

I thought you didn't have to shut down apps now in Android 2.2?
