Help Another google play service has stopped working issue

Hi guys

There are many threads flying around for this issue but haven't found a working solution, so decided to open a new thread. I have a LG Nexus 5 with the below spec. It didn't have google play store or google play services in it. I downloaded the google play store apk from andoidapksfree and installed it using MobileGo software. Installation went fine but when I open google play store, it says it requires google play services as well. I downloaded two apk versions of google play services but after installation both of them said "google play services has stopped working". How do I proceed to fix this? Should google play services be installed before google play store?

Phone: LG Nexus 5
Android version: 5.0.2 LRX22G
Model number: AOSP on HammerHead
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-g88fbc66
Currently installed google play store version: 5.12.10
Already tried google play services versions: com.google.android.gms-v8.3.01-(2385995-030)-8301030-Android-2.3, com.google.android.gms-v8.4.89-(2428711-030)-8489030-Android-2.3

Any advice?

I'd just do a clean flash install from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Also, didn't know 5.0.2 was ever released for N5...
