Was thinking about setting up activesync on the Hero. Anyone else using it? Thoughts?

My admin finally got active sync up and running on our 2003 exchange server. the native android app works great for me but i've read many others have had trouble getting it to sync.

Activesync is Microsoft and therefore not compatible, it syncs with WinMo, unless someone has come out with something new I haven't heard of.

How, Activesync & Mobile Device Center (activesync on Vista) won't recognize my Hero.

On edit: I see now, it is only through an Exchange Server, not direct to PC, which does me no good.

Activesync works just fine on my Hero, using the stock email app. I use the direct push.

On the Hero, it's in Settings | Data synchronization | ExchangeActiveSync ...

Yes, but that is only for Exchange Servers, not syncing direct to Outlook on your PC, which I am sorely missing. I am a one man operation and don't want the expense of an Exchange Server.

If you have an HTC android phone you can sync with outlook through HTC Sync.

You can sync Calendar and Contacts to Outlook, but not email ...

You can do a one-way sync, IF you can even get it to work (I have tried everything and it will not work), but it will not upload new contacts from your phone to Outlook.
