I used swype all the time on my MOTO Droid. Loved it. Successfully put it in my incredible, and I have way way more difficulty typing accurately. Not sure if its just an adjustment, or the slightly convex screen, but kinda went back to the htc keyboard. Matinee just need to adjust more.

Works well for me. The only adjustment was the difference in screen size coming from an Eris.

Yeah, I'll agree it seems a bit different. It was amazing on the Eris and I'm trying to wait for it to get to that point again. It does take some time for it to configure to the way you swype, so now, it's a little less accurate than it was on the Eris. Should be back to "normal" in a few more days I'd say.

I'm new to it, but I LOVE IT on my DI. No problems. Seems the more I use it the more accurate it is.

Under the Swype settings, there is a slider between speed and accuracy. Maybe yours needs a couple nudges towards accuracy ;)

I have no issues at all and have it on my wifes eris as well. I had an eris before i returned it for my incredible last week and don't notice any difference at all. In fact i'm more precise now with even fewer errors. It tends to learn how you type after a few days and gets more accurate over time.

Convex screen? If your screen is convex (or concave :p) you should probably get a replacement

I really wish there was a way to have swype for the portrait keyboard and the htc/sense keyboard for landscape.. i can't use the sense keyboard in portrait cuz i have fat fingers, haha... and the swype keyboard isn't fast enough for me to thumb type in landscape..

How do you mean it isn't fast enough? I use to want regular Sense in landscape, I actually posted a request for the separate keyboard mode to Swype (even though they probably can't implement that). However, I have gotten to really really enjoy swype in landscape mode. I find my WPM to be even faster than portrait.

Loved it on my OmniaII and used swype for 3 months.

Tried swype beta on mDroid and hated it. Didn't bother trying it on Incredible.

But, I liked the mDroid onscreen keyboard and predictive text, it inserted a space after words. The incredible does not.
I looked thru the keyboard options and couldn't find an option to enable AUTO SPACE when choosing a predicted work. HELP this is a bummer -

The windows mobile swype was definetely, definetely more accurate.

The reason was that there was a greater distance of space between each key, making it easier to swype a direct path to your key while reducing instances of overlap word patsh.

I had swype on my Eris and learned to like it. It was one of the first things I put on my DINC and I like it even more. It seems fast and learns words well for me. :D

Anyone else noticing that the keyboard is mis-aligned in landscape mode? The onscreen buttons don't match up with the place you're supposed to put your finger.

They do for me - both when swyping and tap-typing, both in portrait and in landscape. Are you sure you installed the same .apk as the rest of us? I am running ver 5612.

I've noticed it....it is harder because of the screen size for me. Dragging across the letters with further distance between them. No biggie though we will get used to it takes some adjustments!
