Help Any tethering apps on evo (without rooting)?

I've seen a few other threads about apps that tether without rooting.

I'm not looking to root my evo yet, maybe in the future (I did have my samsung moment rooted).

But are there any apps that can get around the evo's ability to turn off 3G when the hotspot is active?

Just use the PDA-Net free edition from the Market. I use it often and it's beast.

I tried to use PDANet at the airport the other day (with a MacBook Pro) and got incredibly slow speeds over the Bluetooth DUN. I was on 3G (there was no 4G service available) but even still it was way slower on the computer than it was on the phone itself. Pretty much unusable.

Any tips on things to try to make it faster?

i use easytether to tether my 3g to my laptop.... idk bout the hot spot 3g issue tho
