I'm guessing it will be unveiled at MWC.

Coolest phone name ever (Fireball), I hope it is not just the code name and they don't change it before it releases. I'm just jealous that it won't be coming to my carrier.

Sounds like this might release as the Droid Incredible 3?

My question was mostly rhetorical, I wasn't expecting a response to a question we can't possibly answer yet. But maybe someone else will enjoy knowing more behind the rumors (I suppose I should have noted a source with my post). ;)

We will have to wait and see what becomes of this device at the MWC next week.

I honestly don't think it will be revealed at MWC, I think they will officially release it in May at CTIA in NOLA.

BUT, then again, that is just my speculation and/or opinion. I am accepting the fact that I might very well be wrong.

Sure it could be shown off quite a bit at CTIA as well. Good idea. Maybe we will learn of it officially at the MWC, but at CTIA there will be an official demo unit?

HTC is having a special event on the day before the MWC, and they have a scheduled conference during the MWC. I would think this device is on the roadmap and will come up at either of these events.

I have more or less been lumping the HTC party and the MWC together since they are on consecutive days.

With the quote "Join us to see what's next" on the special party invite I'm guessing this is going to be a good opportunity for them to not only rundown Sense 4.0 and other new software additions, but also announce and show off new hardware as well (I hope).

I wouldn't expect it announced at any of the shows. I remember in 2010 (When CTIA was in March), we were all waiting around on this forum for an announcement and there wasn't one. Verizon just sent out a press release a week before it came out. The following year, there was an announcement for the Incredible S at MWC (IIRC) but nothing for the DInc 2. It just was a press release again.

Considering almost every time Verizon announced a phone ahead of time by any large margin, it inevitably is delayed in the end (Thunderbolt, Bionic, Nexus). Also, since that leak last week with the "Droid Fighter" listed, it shows a training in April. Fighter is on the list of internal codenames for HTC and Fireball isn't. I think it's the same exact phone. Just a guess...

I believe that the fireball is a Verizon-branded HTC One S, re-styled as an Incredible 3. The rumored specs including the 4.3 qHD screen seem to match up with the One S.

I was thinking that too. I used photoshop, layed them over each other and lined up the clock on both. Pretty much the same size... but not perfect. the icons on the bottom dock for camera, phone, etc. weren't the same size. I am hoping it's actually 720p, and the qHD rumor is fake, but I'm thinking it was just a pshop error or a different build of Sense and this is a variation of the One S. If this phone has 720p Amoled, it will be mine though! Otherwise I'll just sit and wait some more for a different Sense 4.0 (I love me some Sense) that is nicer looking than the Brick known as the Rezound.

I'm also wondering about the 1.2 Gzh clock speed and it makes me question how long this has been in planning and if it is an older Qualcomm chip. HTC sometimes clocks their prototypes lower (as some of the prototypes for the Dinc were at 800 mhz) so with any luck, it is actually an S4 with LTE on the chip.

I switched to a Droid Incredible 2 from a feature phone on the day it came out last year. I LOVE it, especially the textured back. The battery was decent but it lasts through the day. I bought a 2150 mah extended battery and that added too much bulk. I have an upgrade on december 9th 2012, and i am hoping that i can get this Droid Incredible 4G. Sounds great. A big step up from the Dinc2. I like the white too. But if jelly bean is out by then with a new nexus, its gunna be a tough fight between the two. Sense vs. stock. I personally love sense. A lot of cool widgets and animations come with it. Im on sense 2.1 and should be gwtting an upgrade to sense 3.0/3.5(6) sometime soon. But then i look at the galaxy nexus and see all the cool stuff of stock android with the holo theme and i start to drool. If only htc added a 'holo skin' to the skin picker, i would love that. So when my upgrade comes, its gunna be a stand off between the new nexus and this amazing Incredible 4G

For some reason, I'm doubtful that white is going to stick. I could be wrong obviously, but it reminds me of this on the original Incredible... and we know how that turned out.

Without any hype (it sure feels like it), Verizon might be releasing the HTC Droid Incredible 4G, the phone that was once known as the HTC Fireball, at the end of this month. To be precise, April 26 is apparently the date when you’ll be able to purchase the phone.
Out of the three HTC One Series, it can be said that the HTC Droid Incredible 4G resembles the HTC One S the most in terms of its internals. While the display size is unknown (4-inch is a possibility), it is expected to feature a qHD resolution (much like the One S), as well as a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and 8MP rear camera. The HTC Droid Incredible 4G will come in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich flavor.
It’s not certain yet that Verizon will stick with the HTC Droid Incredible 4G name, but if the release date holds up, we should be hearing more from Verizon soon.
