Hi, is there any way to view the forum normally on a mobile device rather than viewing it in mobile mode? Thanks

Honestly, I think I might remove the "mobile mode" altogether. Half the beauty of a smartphone is a full HTML web browser so the mobile mode essentially detracts from our Android capabilities.

You folks agree? Gone with mobile mode? If there was a middleground where it was smartphone friendly but not amputated I'd be all for it but unless I find a simple solution it seems like 1 or the other.

I request that you do not do away with the mobile view as some of us are just speculators for the momment. I was going to request permission to have another account so that I could use a mobile profile on my mobile phone and a normal view on a computer, but if it busts me down to mobile when I use my phone, that would be great. Is there any option in your software to let it detect which view setting to use by browser?

UPDATE: The browser on my Dare looks at this forum in full view. (The grapics are a bit big for this small screen. Hope you forgive the 2nd account.)

What is the "beauty" of screen clutter on a small screen?

If we come for content, we should be able to see content
without clutter if we wish so.

i dont want you to remove mobile view. it works perfectly for me and fits my needs. you could however remove or give me the option to remove, the white box down the left when i'm logged in. i have to log in to post, and log out again to browse. its pants.

keep the mobile view, just add a link to the bottom that will revert the site back to full view if someone so chooses. it is real easy to di, then we have the best of both worlds.

    link to standard skin is

    http://androidforums.com/index.php?styleid=6

    link to mobile skin is

    http://androidforums.com/index.php?styleid=5

so in the footer on the mobile skin find

    Code (Text):
    1. <div class="navbar"><a rel="nofollow" href="http://androidforums.com/forumdisplay.php?do=markread">Mark Forums Read</a></div>
    after that add

    Code (Text):
    1. <br />
    2. <div class="navbar"><a rel="nofollow" href="http://androidforums.com/index.php?styleid=6">Full Site</a></div>

  10. crap

i just saw the combobox in the forum and changed my skin from normal to the mobile version (i'm on a pc) and now i can't switch back :|

*edit* nevermind, used the styleid=6; there really should be an option for this in the ui!

Add link(s) to the bottom to return to full HTML view. Note that if you log out while in mobile view you will be returned back to default (Full HTML) since all your cookies are cleared. Also, when logged in and on the home page of the forums, you will see two 'return to full html' links.

Clicking "return to HTML view" anywhere in the forum will return you to the main page.

Will clean this up as I have time - just wanted to make it easier to use real quick. Sorry about the delay.

p.s. Also removed the left column in mobile view to remove 'My Android'.
