Any way to tell if OTA updates are disabled?

Also, how many times do I have to do that little disable described in the 2.1 root thread? Do I do it every time I redo my OS or just the one time that I've rooted? When I did the input's in command prompt, I was in the actual OS and I didn't receive any errors, but it didn't confirm that I disabled them or anything.

Only need to do it when you root, unless you got some error message than it worked.

I don't think you have to worry about too many upcoming updates.
