I've had my X for about a week now, and three times it has just "lost its programming". I'm not sure if that is the terminology, but this is what happens:

I'll try to send a txt and the phone will fail to do it. The first time it happened I was in the VZW store looking at accessories and I let them handle it - They had to dial *228 and reprogram it. It has done the same thing 2 more times, and now right now it appears to have done it again. What is going on here?

I don't know if this phone has a radio or not, the VZW person claimed it didn't. You know the radio a BB has that can be turned on and off..Does this phone have that? I am using ATK and I think it could possibly be killing something that is causing this problem. My wife just tried to send a txt and i didn't get it..

What do you guys think?

This thread seems similar.. that one says it happens when you do the factory reset, which doesn't sound you did, but could be a bug that causes the same issue in both situations
However, after reading these threads, http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-x/141310-factory-reset-kills-3g-sticky-above.html and http://androidforums.com/support-tr...2463-loss-3g-data-service-how-can-i-tell.html, and searching the forums it seems that the entire basis for the Sticky regarding factory resets is purely what some anonymous "source within Verizon Wireless" supposedly said. I wish they would remove or at least edit that Sticky thread until there is some confirmation.

What radio do you mean?
Wifi radio
CDMA radio (for cell phone to be used as a cell)
FM radio
BlueTooth radio

it has all, but not sure how to turn off CDMA other than to do airplane mode

I guess I mean the cdma radio. You know how on a BB if the battery gets low it will turn of the radio to save battery life.. That was my first thought when it happened, but I couldn't find any radio on/off controls. The lady in the verizon store says it isn't like a BB is and that it didn't have that..

I did read that sticky, but my issue seemed to be something different as I have not done a factory reset.

I keep the wifi and gps off in an effort to save battery life. Don't use bluetooth so that's off too. Don't use FM radio either.
