I am with Boost Mobile on a HTC EVO DESIGN 4G i have replaced my DESIGN 4G 5 TIMES yup believe it or not. I had insurance and returned it within 30 days of the purchase date a few times now but this is 6th DESIGN 4G i have right now i know it has been kind of a hassle. But the DESIGN 4G is the Latest and Greatest phone available on Boost Mobile that Sprint passed along so it is a keeper and i have been happy. But i have had people tell me you sound, fuzzy i can barely here you there is echo on my end. Sometimes i can barely here who i am talking to. I am wondering if it is Boost Mobile or The Actualy phone the DESIGN 4G?????????? I had the ZTE WARP and i didn't have a problem i swear this i would bet it's the phone right?

I have turned down my earpiece volume and that didn't seem to have anything to do with it.

Anyone know what the problem could be maybe some setting i need to adjust?

anyone else having call quality issues echoing, fuzzy, broken up, or any poor call quality issues on your or who you were talking to end?????????

Keep in mind i do have a snap on plastic case i took it off and tried calling people but that did not seem to make a difference.

Could it have a problem with the antenna and grip like the iphone 4 had?????

I have just been in my house and around town when i have had the call quality issues. I was not inside a tunnel or anything

    Your help is Appreciated.

I do not think is much help, but here is my 2 cents:
I have the Design about 1.5 month now. I only experienced echo once and that was with a very low signal. As far call quality, people told me that I sound much better than when I used to have the Galaxy Prevail. The only times I had people complain about my sound quality was when I was shoulder holding the phone, so I stopped doing that. The only sound-wise issue I have with the phone is that the volume sometimes is on the low side.

I Really appreciate that so it may just be a signal issue i feel a lot better now because i feel like i did not get a dud. As some of the few i have gotten and returned remember this current one is my 6TH DESIGN 4G.

Thanks i Appreciate your calming words i will look at my bars next time i am on a call.

Be sure not to hold the phone towards the bottom, watch the decrease in signal when you do, I've had dropped calls, really its a defect but HTC will never admit that.

is this fault across the htc lineup or just the design. could the aluminium band be part of the antenna

+1 to the call quality issues.

I bought the handset in Charleston, WV yesterday and had the issues. I traveled up to Frostburg, MD overnight and I am still having the same issue today. The network signal up here is lacking, but I switched back to my Blackberry Curve 8530 and that phone is having no issues with the one bar that I am getting...

In a few days I will be heading on down the road to a new spot and might swap out and try it again. If the handset still does it, I am going to return/exchange for another one after a wipe of the original. If the new handset does it too, I am going to return it and get my money back.

I had the exact same problem with Boost Mobil and the new HTC EVO Design 4. The sound quality was terrible. I exchanged the phone for a second one and the problem was still the same. I switched over to Virgin and their version of the HTC EVO and now have good sound quality. Worth noting - Boost Mobil customer support is almost non-existent.

Ok after all the replacements the problem was so simple i could not believe i did not try it before ok. So what you do is activate your HTC EVO DESIGN 4G for the very first time then do a ''FACTORY DATA RESET'' You know just wipe the phone and everything off it now try your phone calls i swear it worked for me now people tell me i sound fine no echoing no fuzziness no low far away sound. I feel so stupid for getting all the replacements.

Try it and let me know if it works for you.

I am having the same issues. I also owned the ZTE before this phone and had no problems. I can only hear people if I put them on speaker but then they can't hear me. Currently my phone is cutting off and will only come back on if I take out the battery for a few seconds and then put it back in.
