Because Skype, first and foremost, is a VoIP service provider. And this app works just fine in that regard. I have been in Brazil the last 4 days and talked to my wife over my phone for 2 cents a minute. Now you tell me what my other options were???? My phone actually roams down there...FOR 2 DOLLARS a minute. So for people that use Skype for more than just a novelty, this is a useful app and very welcome. My wife can also be signed on while I am away and I can contact her at will because she will always have her phone with her....instead of being in front of her computer at a specific time....and in this case, it will be totally free(skype to skype) With that said, video chat would be a bonus. Regardless, I hope you GS guys get support soon!!!
