    No, mine has HTC on the back near the base.

    As for the brightness comparison in this video. Not very good to compare that they were both on automatic. The sensors might behave differently. Should have set them both on maximum brightness.

    The earpiece on the one on the right seems to be different as well. Maybe a prototype.

    Edit: and the screen on top seems to be more straight than oval. Definitely not the same device.

    That would be the HTC Desire. Definitely not the same device.

    N1 screen has better contrast and black levels....

    why auto brightness ?

    I had my device shipped to HK then to aus so I'm pretty sure its not the Asia specific device.
    Must be a prototype as already said before.

    From the videos of development from google on youtube I didn't see the HTC mark on the top of the screen in any of those. But could still be early prototype or something.
    Not sure why they would use a prototype N1 against the new Desire, it's not like you can't get an N1 from google now.

    Mine doesn't have HTC on the top, purchased from Google direct just over a month ago.
