    2.2 froyo OTA
rooted, virtuous 2.7 + custom kernal
setCPU with just screen off profile

It is very sporatic but happens quite frequently.

Sometimes i will see an incoming call, hear the ringer, then when i click "Accept" it appears to be connected, but i hear dead silence. Then about 10 seconds later the call is ended. It may happen a few times in a row, and it also may not happen. I never have any issues dialing out though.

I know the people calling me, and sometimes it is people who don't call regularly. They wouldn't play games like prank call me.

    Anyone else?

I wonder if i should post this in the root section, since it is most likely related to rooting?

No your not alone. I am not rooted, but I noticed afer ther update that when I receive an incoming call I try to answer it and its like no body is there. I usually have to say hello several times before someone hears me. It drives me nuts. I too thought people were messing with me.

Thank you! lol. Actually mine will not connect, period. In fact i have it timed to 10 seconds before it behaves as if the other party hung up (but i know they didnt)

In fact when im saying "hello? hello?" and hearing nothing ... if i hit the "End Call" button there is a split second i can hear the audio from the other party before the phone hangs up

I am still having this issue, and it is affecting my business badly.

I am now on SR3.3.2 and it is still happening. Different kernal, different radio. Can it be the device?? What else can i change to see if it stops?

Its like 1 out of every 3 incoming calls has this issue.

    Please help

    SkyRaider 3.2
    SkyRaider 3.3
    SkyRaider 3.3.1
    SkyRaider 3.3.2
    virtuous 2.7 + custom kernal
    virtuous 2.7 + stock kernal

    Have tried the following Kernals:
    KK #5
    Stock HTC Kernal .15
    Stock HTC Kernal .17

    Have tried the following radios:
    2.07.00.07.16:
    2.15.00.07.28:
    2.15.00.09.01:

I will keep switching things up and update this as i remember to.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what else i can try?? I am so in love with my phone, but this is hurting my business and must be resolved.

Thank you so much if you can help.

Are you changing to the CPU speeds any with setCPU? I know if I set my minimum speed to 128mhz, that it will only ring once, sometimes not display the contact, or not even ring at all. If I was lucky enough to answer it then it would stall and drop the call after 5 seconds.

I set my minimum speed to 245mhz and the problem went away. This occured using Stock 2.2, Virtuous 2.6 & 3.0.1, Uncommon Sense, Feather, and BusinessSense, mostly on Kings & Hydra kernals. Have not had this issue with stock or Adrynalyne's kernals, as most do not allow it to go below 245mhz.

I'll update if I run into it again. Hope you get it fixed.

That makes sense, but not in my case. I use either Stock, or SkyRaider. Neither allow underclocking.

But i will try to raise my minimum above 245 and see what happens

Okay i fooled a lot and it hasnt happened yet (i have my toes crossed)

    Here is what i did:

First, i flashed back to my very first backup right after root. So i went back to stock, but still had root.

Next i did a factory reset, wiped all data

Next i flashed SkyRaider3.3.2, newest radio, and manually reinstalled all apps and settings

so far its been 24hrs and i haven't had the issue!!

Not quite the same issue, but for the last three days I can not receive any calls. I can make them, SMS/text works in and out. WiFi is fine... Running Froyo 2.2.1

When someone else calls, the phone goes to a black screen, shudders/vibrates 2x, and then the "no service , o with a slash" comes up on the top. I get no "missed call" notification and the caller is informed "call barred", they don't get to go to voice mail even.

I checked "call barring" and it is disabled. I tried to see if "reject calls" was on ,but then I get the error message "Application Call Settings (process.com.sec.android.app.callsetting) has stopped unexpectedly."

Three days ago I was uninstalling a bunch of stuff to help save the battery life. Is it possible I uninstalled the "answer the phone" component??? Is this even logical?

Any ideas welcome. It would be nice if the phone function of my phone worked, eh?

    Thanks.

If you are rooted, it is very possible to uninstall something that is preventing calls. If you aren't rooted, I'd do a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it, return it.
