no clue what that is.

but wow that is a nice screenshot. what phone do you have? is it rooted? if so what rom is that? or is that a launcher?

Is there anything to indicate what it might be in the pull-down notifications list? Also it appears to in the status icon group rather than notification icons, which are usually on the left AFAIK. What phone is it, also is it a custom ROM?

Yep, it's NFC.

DroidP, if you head to Settings -> More and untick the box next to NFC, it should go away.
