I really like the new Google Navigation, and it would be really handy for when I go abroad cycling, apart from the roaming charges. Any apps that can cashe the maps and store them, or must I always be connected?

    Thanks

MapDroyd and AndNav are both capable of that. Try them both and see which one you like :)

I'm not sure about AndNav, but I'm pretty sure MapDroyd uses offline maps from OpenStreetMap, it has nothing to do with Google's map data.

That's true, I don't know of any that will store Google's maps.

Gotte - try a program called rMaps - it uses Mobile Atlas creator on your PC and you can make your own map files using several different sorces eg Google Maps, Microsoft Maps, and then copy the file to your SD card and your away. For example I have just created a map of Lanzarote for exactly the same reason.

I've been using Locus, various maps can be downloaded, google, microsoft, yahoo and OSM cycling. Even public transport maps.

The best I've tried in a while.
