Is anyone else annoyed with some of the ******* who post reviews on there?

    "First!"

I was looking at the Muslim prayer clock. Sounds like it's a decent app, but, of course, people have to make posts that mock the religion (which, by the way, has many similarities to Christianity).

    I particularly liked the one:

"This is another example of why our country is sliding backwords" --wesley

Nice job, wesley. Next time you want to be a racist moron, at least spell everything correctly. I'm not a grammar nazi, but you better not mess up basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling...especially when saying that Islam is the reason the country is sliding backwards.

Where's that stupid filter Sleebus mentioned??

    /rant - It's been a long week.

Yeah, I want to read reviews that are helpful. Not stupid gibberish. Some people just need to get a life.

The stupid filter can't come fast enough. ;)

Yeah, the morons who post "first" -- ugh. Also, the people who just slam apps beyond belief, when it's obvious from their slaughter of the english language that they couldn't code their way out of a wet paper sack. People are just downright rude and it's not really warranted either.

yeah, a lot of websites allow you to mark comments/reviews as spam or junk.

those people should be blocked from the market altogether....
    ...and their G1s forfeited.

What's really unfortunate is, these jokers lower the rating, so you really can't count on what the rating is.

I would love to write a review about there reviews. To me it seems like a bunch a little teenie boppers that are spoiled rotten. Because it is not exactly what they want, it's wrong. They need to grow up! I hear Disney has a ladybug phone for them.

What they should do is let people flag inappropriate comments from the market. Flagged comments get pushed to the bottom, grayed out, or deleted. People who constantly post comments that get flagged get a warning, then put in time out, and finally get a "no thanks, your comments are not welcome" message.

I say give the owners of an app the ability to flag comments for review.

Also do this in reverse as well, so people how make good comments on programs like suggestions and help on the app should be given positive reviews so they're posts go to the top.

I agree with the flagging also.

I was going to start a thread about this also and sorry to hear about the first posters experience.

It is also dishearting to the developer as well. What if this is the first application that they tried. Maybe it did not go well. But maybe just maybe the second application is the one we are all waiting for???? I would really not want to discourage the developers.

I would feel an e-mail to the developer to tell them what they should add etc would be constructive.

I also don't understand those that give bad marks when they don't understand what the application does. Not every application is meant for everyone. Very few would be universal.

I have also'd e-mailed some developers to ask questions when I was interested in their product and all have been very nice and quick to answer.

What else can you ask for????????????

    Sorry for rant.

Yes the flagging is a must. It has become like youtube on there with people arguing and some of the crass comments (And I am certainly no prude) really are a joke. People telling each other to suck their .... well you get my point just because they can't agree?

If I was a developer then I would be peed off that idiots were lowering the scores without any real feedback as to why they didn't like it rather than what seems to be the norm of "Dis is F*cken Sh*t" and without the stars that is exactly one of the comments I saw on an application and with the exact spelling, I guess a full keyboard doesn't help someone spell properly if they are a moron already

Hahaha, so true. Yeah, we need a user modding system like /. to bury the idiot comments.

I completely agree with this thread and to anyone reading this wondering why bother. It may not be such a big deal to actually try every app that comes along now but what about when it costs $3.99 to try or when there eventually is 4000 apps. The ratings will be (except google searches, of course) the only way to decide which apps are worthy of a closer look.

I pretty much ignore the reviews by now. I can't stand the people that purposely are cruel and mean. People are using their own precious time to make something that they think people will like. Constructive criticism is fine, but some people are downright vicious.
