Application Guides NEEDED!

  1. Rob

Rob I'm tellin' mommy on you! Administrator

We're in the process of giving the Android Forums Application Database a makeover. Once it is ready to roll, we'll want to keep it up to date with all the applications that Android has to offer, complete with videos and reviews.

I'd like to name Application Guides to each "category" of Applications/Games to make it easier for App Guides to keep up by splitting up the work load. Plus, that way you can follow the apps that interest you most!

    Here are the categories:

    • Business
    • Communication
    • Entertainment
    • Finance
    • Lifestyle
    • Maps & GPS
    • Multimedia
    • News
    • Shopping
    • Social Networking
    • Sports & Fitness
    • Tools & Utilities
    • Travel

    • Arcade & Action
    • Brain & Puzzle
    • Cards & Casino
    • Casual
    • MMTRG

Application Guides stay up to date with applications to hit the market in categories they are responsible for and submit them to the Android Forums market with descriptions, information, screenshots, etc...

We also want to notify developers that their application is on the market and invite them to sign up and take control of their application listings themselves.

Because it will help Android Forums rock even more, give you an excuse to be up to date on all the kick arse apps on the market and because a team-oriented spirit is what Android is all about!

Maybe we'll rig up an "application guide" badge to hook all the Application Guides up with so you can get some recognition.

Leave a message here or PM myself or Phases to apply and/or learn more. We're going to be pretty selective because Application Guides will be able to pass the Moderation Queue that normal members face when Submitting Applications.

I'll offer up some random ones as I can. I don't have the time to contribute to an entire group, but I will submit for some of the apps that I like.

I'm not sure I'll purchase any apps come '09, and i refuse to post those kiddy ratings i've been seeing. ("1st here, don't know what this app does but i give one star")

But when an app hits the market I usually download it and see what I can do with it.

I don't want to help out rating the games though.

On a side note I saw where you said you wanted screenshots, for anyone who signs up, it's kind of a pain right now but if you're running the sdk here is what you do:

Well i probably cant do video's but have purchased over 20 apps/games and have screen shots ready to go. Will update anything i contribute and keep it current. Let me know if interested. Included screen shot apk, the free version for those who may need it, root required of course.

I'm new on Android but I have experience in reviewing WinMo app and not much iPhone app. Maybe comparing between applications for different platforms will be interesting for the public.
