Help apps frequently quit

Whenever I'm switching between apps, they frequently quit on me. For example, I'm using gmail then want to go back to Words With Friends and Words With Friends quits unexpectedly. It happens a lot. More often than not.

The phone itself seems very slow to me, very laggy. I don't have a lot of apps. There is still space available. The sd card is not full either. It just can't seem to handle anything complex like the GPS. It frequently quits on me randomly while I'm relying it on to get me where I'm going. It also restarts itself randomly even when I'm not using it. It's pretty disappointing. Does anyone else experience this?

Yeah, plus lagging for whole minutes between hitting the call button and the call actually happening. That's among the reasons I bailed on the Rise, it's not even worth having.

It's the lack of RAM. Only 512MB, it's barely enough for Android itself, much less apps.

Oddly enough, the Kyocera Hydro, which has the same specifications and OS and is essentially the same phone except without the keyboard and with Boost instead of Virgin, runs great with the same stuff.

I wish I could transplant the slide qwerty to my Hydro...or even just use it via bluetooth.
