Apps not downloading

I did a factory reset on my android tablet on my daughters tablet as she had it full of game apps and we decided to clear it out and start again. Now i can't install from the app store. It just keeps downloading and nothing else happens.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Stop the download (the X) and clear the cache of the Play Store app in Settings/Apps/All ...

OP, did you sign back in with the same Gmail address that you used before?
