Root Apps2sd: advantage (aside from # of apps installed)? & formatting for Apps2sd

Hi,
1) personally, i don't have "a ton" of apps, and don't think I would use up phone's memory any time soon. wondering how else apps2sd would be of benefit? does it speed up phone? does it make restoring apps easier?

2) formatting for apps2sd: a) class 2 fine? b) i have 32gb micro card and after some time, and mounting issues, i got that i have to format card from pc, not phone, but apps2sd reformats card to partition it, correct? so, it would seem this won't work for 32gb card. can i create a partition in windows and have rom manager use that, or does it have to reformat?
