i've been trying to find an app that has a widget that i can put on my homescreen that will change through a list of quotes i've gathered. currently, i'm using everydayquotes Everyday Quotes - Android app on AppBrain

it does what i'm kind of looking for and i'm just looking to work off of what they have. or is this not "ethical"?

not all apps are open source, nor do they have to be. if you want an app to work off of, you are going to have to find one yourself.

Are you looking to copy their layout style or hack into the source code somehow?

no not hack, i'm totally clueless as how to code -_- so this is all wishful thinking most likely but i'd like to find something to work off of and play around.

If the app is open source it will say so and link to something like a googlecode page.
