Kies,GPS issues, lag is the only thing that angers me about this phone
Lag fix is needed and Froyo update, I hope they comming soon by end of Sept , its a wonderful device in fact the best so far
WOW, What a active section.
come on, vote and replay your reason
Oke, i'll reply
Kies really sucks... i think the guy who developted it at Samsung is fired
The GPS always thinks i'm somerwhere else
Lag still oke with me, but lag fixes still hard to use on my device
And yes, hope the 2.2 update will fix some things
I like the phone but my issue with it turning off for no apparent reason is bugging me. Hopefully we get the common bug fixes soon.
I really like having the Allshare feature with my phone and Samsung TV. Being able to playback my videos and pictures on my TV with a touch of the screen and wireless connection is awesom.
i voted IF samsung will release update to fix lugs (or bugs), YES
its a very good phone i like the apps and how fast it is most of the time
I've got a Desire and an SGS and I much prefer my SGS.
Apart from GPS, I can't really fault the phone.
Only issue I have so far is the crap Kies software
No Lag here but rooted and lag fixed. Great phone and GPS is fine.
Kies is crap
I hope Samsung makes a Kies Windows 7 fix.
Cant get the damn phone to work with kies after trying everything.
While I tinker a bit, I'm in no way a power user and for me it's fantastic. A pure joy to use. Yes, kies works sometimes and not others for me. No gps problems here. Plenty of internal memory, tonnes for apps. Screen freaks me out every time I look at it. My third samsung smartphone in a row and they get better every time, by like a mile!
@MElll Look at this link
its how i got my mine to work. There are other ways out there that may be a shorter version, such as a link in this forum that has a program that seeks out 16 digit extension files on the phone which cause connecting to Win 7 to fail here - http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...000-mtp-application-crashing.html#post1446922
Love this phone but really want the GPS to work ....and desperately waiting for the Froyo update ...Kies sucks ...not been able to make it work till now
Am I happy? This little thing in my hand is fantastic! (Yes, I am talking about the phone.) No lag here. GPS gets it right 70/30. If that got close to 100% & someone invented a back button on SWYPE, I would marry it.
Think the main gripes with this phone are the lag, the software and the GPs issues. Other than that its a great phone. I have lag still even though I have upgraded to the latest 2.1 firmware JM5 but it still lags. it was ok at first but the longer I go with it the worse it seems to get.
With the JM5 the GPS seems to work fine for me.
Very happy with the phone, I'm not really bothered about 2.2 atm or the bugs, 2.1 plus fixes from the community and the phone is great, super smooth after lag fix. I think the interface is great, much nicer visually than sense which I think is highly overrated.
Only reason I want 2.2 is for full flash support, but I guess flashlite will do until then...
Working fine here with Windows 7.
Kies is awful...I need a PhD to synchronize the phone through it
Android Market is blocked in the Middle East...
Everything else is fine..
Yeah, love it. I had a PAYG Galaxy Portal as a stopgap while i waited for my upgrade date and, although i was happy enough with that, the SGS is streets ahead. I've had no GPS problems and only minimal lag
...Only thing missing is some way to go back through a line of text and correct typos. The Portal has a cursor button at the bottom, and the iphone lets you magnify text by pressing on it. I can't find a similarly easy way of doing it with my SGS.
My first smartphone and im not really a tinkerer. Have to say that out of the box I was impressed but after tinkering with LPP and the like i love it now.
My mate got an iphone just before I got this and knowing him he would hate it. Seems to me that most people dont use TW with the SGS and if thats all we had would we love it as much?
This is my first touch screen phone so I like the big screen feel.
I've to admit I had to root it (to get rid of some bloatwares by my carrier) and use the Lag Fix to speed things up, without which it's unbearable.
For a semi-technical person I am, I'm happy with the phone. Frankly, I won't recommend it to non-tech people, they would be better off with a iPhone which is plug and play (prey).
Yeah, I use Launcher Pro. TW was ok, but LP is more customisable.
Phone is great.
Actually there is a way, long press the '?123' button and you get directional arrows. Very helpful indeed.
Overall I love the phone, few issues here and there but every problem we encounter has a fix to it so the community is just fantastic! Here's to a prompt but more important un-sucky release of froyo next month.
