Hello, new member from Greece. I have an HTC Magic for some time now and I would like to know if there is any good astronomy app other than Google Sky Map which is way too crappy for even less than amateur work (doesn't give coordinates, has very few objects and some of them are (slightly I admit) inaccurately placed).
    Thank you in advance.

Thanks, it is a neat app though not quite what I m looking for. I need something with star charts and object coordinates. I know that there are many good ones for iphone and I m surprized it s so hard to find one for Android.

I agree with Ozzy about Google Sky Map - it is kind of neat and fun to show your friends, maybe once or twice. But it is not useful for amateur astronomy. In fact I'm very disappointed that no "serious" astronomy application has appeared for Android - and it makes me a bit concerned for Android's future. Several years ago I paid $9 for "Palm Planetarium" which remains a completely awesome application - no, my Palm device did not have accelerometer, GPS or compass, but "Planetarium" provided much more useful information than Google Sky Map does.
