AT&T 3G Android device that slipped under the radar? Moto xt701/Sholes...unlocked.

It looks like the Motorola xt701 (Sholes tablet) is being sold "unlocked" at amazon and newegg ($449 at newegg) and supports AT&T 3G bands. I had always thought this was Chinese-only, and since many people on AT&T were looking for a decent Android device, did this one kind of slip under the radar? Maybe a good alternative, if the Captivate isn't cutting it for some? My hesitation with the Captivate is the lack of a flash (light), and somewhat low call volume levels. Lacking the AT&T software may also be a draw for some.

I don't have it...the link is for someone else's thread. I was considering it though, since my N900's screen is not working anymore, and I'm moving back to AT&T. I wanted to get an unlocked device in order to keep my unlimited data/text plan for $30/mo.

However I'll wait to see what this Motorola Sage is before pulling the trigger.

NM...if this is the "Sage", I'll pass (3.1" screen):
