interesting the AT&T version looks like Dell Streak.
It has 4 buttons compared to 3 on the original galaxy S?

Interesting phraseology from the press release:

    The back looks nice.

Seems 16G is the only version offered. Another plus...

You have no idea the celebratory jig I just did in my office chair.

In the immortal words of Austin Powers,
    "Aaaand I'm spent."

Yep, 4 capacitive buttons instead of the 2 + large home button you can see on the original:

I'm also pretty stoked about this part of the presser:

Hmm, maybe I'm reading too much in here... One of the annoying things about the international version is that the "home" screen is the far left screen, not the center one. Looking at pictures of the Captivate, they have the google widget (notice google, not yahoo?) front and center on the center home screen. I wonder if that means the captivate's home button defaults to the center screen. Would be really nice if it did!

Also, the back looks significantly different. The whole back doesn't look like it comes off on this one.

Not to mention the sides have a more modern, less iPhone feel.

    I'm liking it!

Now, put the thing in my grubby little hands sometime in July, and I'll be a happy camper.

Awesome, this I will hold out for. I like the fact that they added the search button and changed the design. Doesn't look like an iPhone rip off now. :D:D:D:D

    QFT.

I think that the only reason we don't have a solid date yet is the imminent "event" on the 29th. Pretty sure we'll get a date then.

So I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this unless a better HTC comes out. Only problem is going to be updating the OS.

Forgive me if I don't cry any tears for our Verizon friends who've had access to the Droid for 6 months, the Droid Incredible for 2 months, and the Droid X "coming soon". This is our first real Android phone. We're gonna party for a while, if you don't mind. :)

That was my first thought too, but if you look at photo of the Galaxy S above, one of those looks like it is defaulting to the middle screen as well. Maybe it'll be customizable?

What's the chance ATT taking out the front facing camera?

Looks like it is there on the left side (when looking at it from the front) of the speaker...which is the opposite side from the standard Galaxy S.

I love the phone and right now it is between the Dell Streak and this but my ONLY complaint is no flash. Why no flash for the 5MP Camera? This makes it impossible to take pictures at night. Any insight on this?

I'd like to see some better hi-res photos to confirm this. It does look like something's there though.

What about the ability to upgrade to android 2.2. Will we be able too? I want flash on this phone. Don't make me go to Verizon for the Motorola X. I will have to buy overalls to fit the phone in my pockets.
