[AT&T] Should I go back to the stock Samsung GS3 ROM, or is there a custom ROM that will fix my issues...?

    Hi guys,

    I have a GS3 (Rogers/AT&T model)

I have rooted, installed CMW Recovery and been trying to get my S3 working 100% but I keep running into issues. These issues are making me want to go back to the stock Samsung ROM, but just trying to figure out if there is a custom ROM out there, maybe not CyanogenMod that could address the issues I am running into.

    - For some reason my Cyanmodgen 9 stable ROM download includes the Camera app, but any of the CM10 nightly ROM's I've tried do not have it all, there is no camera app. I've been using a third party camera app, Camera Zoom and it's alright but it doesn't have the Panorama option of the stock Samsung Camera app. Even the Camera app in C9 doesn't have panorama built in. I kind of miss the panorama being built into the main camera app.

    - I cannot get S-Voice either properly installed via Cyanogen 9 or 10. I've tried different methods and different google apps/samsung apps .zip files flashing via CWM. Some of them end up having S-Voice install but when I try and run the app and actually do a search it just crashes.

-The stock video app worked far better than the "gallery" app in Cyanogen 9/10 or the third party apps I've used (like VLC, etc). I also sort of miss the ability to multitask while still playing video (the "picture in picture" / send an email while watching video) option that the stock video app had. I know its not a feature I'll use too often, but it's pretty cool and I enjoyed it before I flashed a non-stock ROM.

I really don't know much about the custom ROM's out there beyond C9/C10 and the developer forum and the seemingly hundreds of custom ROM's out there. Do you think any of them will address the above three concerns (no panorama in main camera app, s-voice not working or installing properly, no video playback while in another app), or should I just go back to the stock ROM?

    Thanks.

For the stuff you're looking for, I'd recommend stop looking the CM/AOKP route. You're better off looking at JB ROMs that are carrier leak based, like some of the ROMs based on the latest T-Mo or Sprint source leaks.

They're much more likely to retain the stock media features you say you miss from ICS when flashing AOSP-esque ROMS

Here's one in particular I've tried in the past that was solid:
ROM - Stock TouchWiz Jelly Bean PORTS (JellyBean 747 Milestone 5)

    Hope this helps.
