    hey all.

so i downloaded advanced task killer and its great. does exactly what i need because the battery on my lg gw620 is pretty poor, but what i want to know is there an app that can turn off the auto booting of apps.

for example when i kill all the apps on my phone, if i do nothing for an hour, and i load it up again in an hour or so there are about 10 apps running (not widgets) so obviously there is a form of auto boot function that loads apps without me asking.
is there an app that can kill the auto booting?

    Life with Android:

Day 1: get phone and dl ATK (because it is at the top of the list in the market)
Day 2: start having problems with the phone acting weird and the battery being sucked dry
Day 3: get blasted on the forums for using a Task Killer app
Day 4: uninstall Task Killer app and all the issues go away
    Day 5: all smiles :)

Not true at all. ATK has done nothing but help my phone run smoother and increase batt. life.

That's what they all say until one day their phone stops working. Then they come here and post "why, oh why me?"

Then they get pissed when we tell them it was because of their task killer.

so what would you suggest instead? whether task killer kills battery life and such doesnt get away from the fact that once you start downloading apps you have about 10 programs running in the background draining the battery.

anyone know how to solve the first problem? with the apps auto starting

Try system panel. It gives you a much better idea of what apps are doing so you can pinpoint malefactors. Its best to work with android memory management by excluding apps you frequently use. I think you will find that it was an app or two that was eating up your battery and once you get rid of them you will have no need to kill apps. Its still good to have an app killer such as system panel as a tool to deal with runaway apps. It is also handy to kill apps that are battery hogs but not runaways that require the ability to run in the background. Trapster is such an app. Uses a lot of batt and needs to run in background to work properly. Once you are done with it you can simply kill it to save battery by killing all in system panel rather than having to switch to it and drill a menu. Because all your frequently used apps are exluded you get the desired result with less hassle and are working with the memory scheme instead of against it.

Buy Startup Auditor. It stops apps from boot loading or starting up at all.

of course guy this type of application are available but you have to search in Google because Google is one of the biggest search engine then after you get auto boot application it helps your mobile will give more battery backup. I hope you like my idea.

**I AGREE**Taking the app killer off my phone has increased my battery life. It was a viscous circle of me killing apps and then they would reboot themselves therefore using more battery then just leaving them on to begin with. It was locking my phones sleep mode app (factory installed) to were the only way to turn it back on was to take the battery out. Taking the App killer off the phone saved me from bringing my phone back in for a refund. (EVO user)
