my current su binary is v3.0.3.2, which came from JCase's thread http://androidforums.com/avail-all-things-root/566407-root-zte-z990g-merit-avail-variant.html

but i noticed in this thread http://androidforums.com/zte-t-avail/616277-su-binary-problem.html motorhead uploaded this 3.1 binary

the difference in the two is a lot--mine right now is 22kb whereas this other one is 372kb

which one should i have on my phone? and my superuser app doesn't ever download a new binary it always says it's up to date. is there something else i should be doing???

some clarity on this would be greatly appreciated.

i do have the ZTE Merit z990g for Straight talk btw

I use the one JCase provided as well v3.0.3.2, And I haven't had any issues with it. My phone is rooted and everything is working fine. So I don't see the point in updating su. :p

well i updated it by updating the superuser app. then the su updated just fine to v3.1.1

and it's always good to have the latest superuser permissions i would think.

I haven't used ChainsDD superuser in a while... I've switched to Chainfire's SuperSU on all of my devices (that don't have an SU manager built in).
