    Hi Everyone,

I have been using my Sprint Hero for a little while now. As it turns out, I am starting to run out of room with my internal memory on the phone with the data it has. I would like to back up the data (especially the built-in Calendar data) to my PC or at least my SD card on the phone.

Can someone tell me how to backup the data?

Hi. I am interested in this too!

Can one simply mount the micro-card and simply drag and drop all files on the HTC micro-card to a folder on the computer? Will the reverse work?

I use MyBackup from the Market. This will even back up the information online if you wish. Good luck.

I'm not sure about the Calendar data. Honestly, I think the best way to backup the Calendar & Contacts are to sync them with an external source, be it Exchange or Google. Google probably being the easier of the two.

I use ASTRO to backup my apps and manage data on the sdcard.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Your suggestions have been very helpful, and I can backup my data as needed, now.

Do tell, which app you went with? Is it free?

    I am from Sprite

so i am in the Sprite Camp

Android Backup from Sprite restores much much more than any other old Android system

We are pushing the boundaries at Sprite, over the next weeks you will get not only the best backup system, the only system than can migrate from other OS's, but much more tools will be included for free. The cool thing is they are built by a 20+ staff company, who can deliver on support also

    check out for details

    Thanks for your response.

Actually, I went with all three of your's why...

    - mounting via USB Connection (this is free, of course): I found this really helpful for transferring files such as, Microsoft Office files and music files that I work with daily and transfer between my laptop and my Hero.

    - MyBackup Pro: With this one, I decided to go with the Pro version. I found that the Pro version is only $5.00, so I decided to go for it. This program is really good for backing up the installed apps/data to the SD card. But, please note, it saves it in a specific file readable only by MyBackup/Pro. Nevertheless, I really like the program.

    - ASTRO File Manager (this is also free): While I am 'on the go', this program gives me the ability to work with the files that I need. It also has a good 'backup' feature that backs up almost all data. But, be sure to go for the latest version, which includes the 'backup' feature.

These are just my thoughts on the subject.

    Hope this helps.

  9. I also recommend you MyBackup. It is just perfect.

Sprite does not work and I would like a refund.. Phone is two weeks old and I discovered a broken piece on it... Had to change it out and tried Sprite... No good. When it came to restore, errors all over the place... the good thing is it's straight forward, but did not work.
    Sorry pal.
