Backup for hard reset without use of touchscreen?

So my HTC G2 touchscreen quit working tonight, the screen still lights up and shows everything but doesn't respond to any touch commands either on the screen or the softkeys at the bottom. I can connect it to my mac and likely have everything backed up, but am wondering if there is any way to backup the phone via my mac, without access to the phone?

All the programs I've looked at require me to use the phone which isn't happening at the moment. I do have it on my desktop though...would just dragging everything from it to my desktop work?
