For some reason my Desire wont start restoring backed up data from the SD. There is a folder \Backup including several .arc -files.

Is there a way to start the restoring process manually OR is there a way to handle those files on the pc ?

It seems, that winzip does not understand the content of those .arc -files.

Any hints to how to proceed ?

    regards,
    zepe

Arc format is certainly a blast from the past; I haven't come across an arc file in over 10 years. Chances are it's not what I'm thinking it is.

What app created these files in the first place?

It was created by the automated backup process of the preinstalled Android (preinstalled version in HTC Desire). HTC says (current opinion), that it is impossible to open those files, which I don't believe so far...

Even it's -arc -ending does not mean, that is't really doing someting with that arc-packing...
