    I got my incredible yesterday after waiting a month, and much to my dismay, the screen had a very noticeable pink hue even at full brightness. At 50% and below, it was like crayola went wild with a new translucent magenta crayon all over my display.

    I debated getting a replacement all day, but after I called someone for the first time(txt is king in this day and age), I unfortunately had to. Every 30 to 45 seconds, the sound would become garbled for 5ish seconds. It is really weird. The overall sound quality isn't bad at all save during the garbling effect.

    The tech support guy spend 30 mins trying to convince me that the pink hue was caused by my (stock mind you) settings. I eventually went off on him and told him trouble shooting was over, it is a known occurrence etc. Before even getting to the sound problem, he offered a replacement.

    Here's the kicker. The replacement would take atleast another 30 days to arrive, with a max time of UNKNOWN. LOL. He could not tell me how long I would have to wait because he didn't know. Great.

    Hi Motorola Droid X. Unfortunately they refused to put me on their rogue preorder list, instead offering a full refund upon receiving my defected Incredible.

    I really wanted this phone over the Droid X. It was more of what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to wait an indefinite amount of time over the already month it took to get the first phone. To make matters worse, no compensation was given. What, you wasted a month waiting for a broken phone and you dont wanna wait another 2 years for a possible working one?!?!?!? Your fault we dont care gg bai bai.

    Verizon is messing up big time on the HTC Incredible. It's coming down to damage control, sadly.

    ^ It's that kind of idiocracy that is killing our nation. It would have taken the same number of characters to write "bye bye", but you don't get the same arrogant sarcasm. Usually I see that type of writing from upset 13-14 year old boys and girls who spend too much time playing video games. I'm sadly guessing you are a bit older. Thank you for the rant, we are happy to have to leave and I feel bad for the poor people in the droid x forum.

    Why is this guy getting slammed? He received a phone with pink hue (becoming unfortunately more common with the Inc) and some poor customer service.

    Is this forum only for good news?

    Only 1 bash, the rest of us were just a bit sarcastic.

    My only real gripe with his rant is that he (like many others) have an extremely unreasonable expectation about the wait time for this phone. The phone is backordered, there is nothing they can do about it. Whinning and moaning isn't going to solve the problem.

    I really don't think Verizon's attitude is "I don't care". They DO care, but they can only do so much. They simply can't give you a phone that they don't have.

    From what I can see they have been doing everything they can to "make things right". They have given $25 cards, free accessories, bill discounts and so on. They have extended their WFG to 60 days and are allowing people who want to switch to the X to do so.

    I am sorry the guys phone was messed up, that's a total suck. But the Verizon bash wasn't really necessary. IMO.

    I'm a skeptic. Also, low post count + posting about getting a replacement (must have had the phone for at least a little while) and having a severely negative impact = Me wanting proof otherwise I'll write it off as a troll.

    I don't ask for much, just take a camera (everyone has them) and snap a few pics. If he can, great, then I'll believe him. If he comes back saying "I don't have to prove $hit to you," then he's a troll, simple as that.

    If he was trolling he certainly would have been more abrasive. And he also stated that, given different circumstances, he would have preferred the Incredible. Just a man with a problem who needed to vent.

    Fact of the matter is, he really DOESN'T have anything to prove to you.

    And thus I remain skeptic until I can see the phone and judge for myself. Otherwise I will view it as either a troll: someone who read about the pink hue issue and wanted to add fuel to the fire, or someone who got so worried and paranoid about the pink hue that at the first sign of pink, freaked out and thinks he has a bad screen now.

    Jesus you guys are a bunch of fanboys. I really wanted the Incredible over the droid x, trust me. I'm not too keen on a giant screen nor physical buttons. I'll take pics tomorrow morning to show how bad the hue is. For example, the gray on the post box has a definite pink hue on 100% brightness.

    It just pretty much sucks that people are waiting a month for a product that seems to have many problems, whether you guys think they are 'tolerable' or not. No product should ship with known problems to such a large degree.... And don't tell me every incredible has a pink hue, its the pentile blah blah blah, that simply isn't true. My friend's loads HTC - Mobile Phones, Smartphones, Cell Phones, PDAs with a gray banner, not a pink one.

    From what I understand, the intermittent garbling problem is not nearly as common.

    Perhaps both will be fixed with an OTA, the screen being that of a contrast/tint adjustment and the audio problem... well I dunno. But I'm not willing to wait to see if it happens, nor does it seem like a really good idea to wait an 'indefinite' amount of time to see if I get a new,working one, a new, defective one, or one of the various refurbs going around. Who knows, maybe one of you guys will get mine soon? :p

    Perhaps with the shortage of screens, the company who makes the screens for HTC are trying to produce more units at the expense of quality control. Or, you unfortunately got a bad phone. I would be miffed too but hopefully it will all work out. Maybe you can get a 25 dollar Verizon gift certificate for waiting a month for a new phone.

    People, do I need to remind you all of the Zero Tolerance policy. I think not. The OP has a issue, just because he has a few posts does not warrant any one treating another wrongly or worse disrespectful. Next one that does so will be given a vacation. Simple as that.

    If you find a thread, post or member not to your liking and feel someone is trolling then feel fee to report the situation, but by resorting to name calling or disrupting a thread will certainly not be tolerated.

    To the OP, I just got my incredible yesterday after a 32 day wait. I had my fingers crossed that I would not get a bad one. And fortunate for me I got a perfect one. I would be LIVID if it came defective. My wife wants one now, so we called to try and order one and they told us yesterday that August 5 would be the ship date. Since she didnt want to wait, we asked about the X and they said that there was no way to order the X yet. I feel for you man, and I hope you get a good one and something for your time. Verizon customer service sucks plain and simple.

    I have already sent my incredible in 3 times for a blown speaker problem and they wont let me preorder the x either. I'm not gonna rant about it. It is what it is, you can always take your business elsewhere.

    Apparently the forum is only for good news.

    I would be upset like the OP because you waited a certain amount of time to get the phone and now you have to wait some more just to get an issue rectified.

    True, Verizon can't do anything for a phone they don't have. If they have done the compensation for the Dinc as someone in an above post said then great

    But I don't think Verizon is handling this situation as best they should.
    I honestly think a lot of Dinc customers are now becoming X customers and
    it is a ashame because the phone has a lot of promise but we are now almost
    at three months or so and they are having a lot of supply issues...Maybe it is
    time to cut their losses and do HEAVY DAMAGE CONTROL instead of how they are handling it now

    Also I learned that the android users are probably worse "fan boys" than apple(because they actually have a sense of elitism within their own OS) yet are the ones always bashing apple the most lol

    Iphone can't make a call without dropping or it's closed down, blah blah blah or Steve Jobs is the devil(as if they know the man personally)

    Android's BIGGEST problem is the fact not that they don't have quality apps like the iphone or not because the iphone does something it can't

    It's because Android and the manufacturers are trying to beat the iphone so hard that they are literally throwing devices out almost everyday and they are not taking the time to thoroughly research the device.

    ESPECIALLY HTC...There profit has gone up tremendously and more power to them but HTC has a device out(or 3) every month.

    And every HTC device has the same problem virtually

    1)Dust Under the screen
    2) Light leakage
    3)Speaker Issues
    4Issues with Sense
    5)Build Quality

    Etc. Etc. Etc.

    Yet HTC makes the hottest android devices(With Motorola second and Samsung now third) and people run to HTC devices given full knowledge of known HTC Issues.

    Before buying an Incredible, I am sure a lot of Incredible owners frequented eris threads(or even were Eris users)

    And alot of the issues I am seeing with this phone were first shown in the Eris(and the Hero and even non sense phones like nexus, mytouch etc etc.)

    OP remember next time to be careful of what you say about speaking ill of ANY phone because you will anger the masses.

    And his 5 posts mean nothing other than he has 5 posts. There are plenty of people lurking around here since AF has been created that never register

    Probably out of fear of being ridiculed and bashed like people like the OP

    And why does he have to take pictures?

    1) This isn't a post about 2.2 on his phone
    2)By him taking pictures what exactly does that do for you? Except to prove whether he is "lying or not". You can't do anything for him so what's the point of taking pictures?

    I don't have an Android device yet. My contract is up in August and I have been lurking for months while trying to learn all I can about the various Android devices (I currently have an LG Dare). I spend a lot of time on the Incredible and Droid X forums (I've spent some time in the original Droid and Evo forums as well.). I have found most of the information on the forums extremely helpful and most of the people that post to be very informative and genuinely coming from a good place.

    Once I get my first Android device I may find more reasons to post. Hopefully people won't discount my input/questions because of my limited number of posts.

    I just wanted to say thanks to all of you that take the time to add to the discussions and help people like me learn all I can about the various Android phones. I am having a lot of fun here and feel much better about my upcoming purchase - whatever it may be. :)

    The reason I want pics is because this was sort of a known issue with amoled screens. There is a very slight pink hue when viewing certain shades of gray. If this is all that he is experiencing, it's not that serious.

    The op make it sound as though the pink is everywhere. If this is the case then yea, I completely sympathize with him and would put up a bug fight with Verizon.

    The pics are just to compare. As a community grows, as does the number is trolls and fake information. There's nothing wrong with asking for more info. I do apologize for coming off as abrasive as I did though.

    it's just so aggravating seeing people get attacked or discredited
    due to having 5 posts

    I have well over a thousand and that doesn't exactly give me seniority because the half the time i have no idea what i am talking about(and many others are there to educate me on my ignorance about whatever it is i was discussing lol)
