Help battery and reboot issue.

ok heres my dilemma.
i have a rooted g2.
i have two batteries and another broke screen g2
that i just use to charge my battery while i use the charged one.
and it seems i have to switch batteries 3-5 times a day.
this is RIDICULOUS!
theres no reason i should have this short of battery life on TWO batteries.
i check whats using the most battery and the only thing that is using alot is
the android system.
ALSO, im having an issue with constant reboots.
at least 3 times a day my phone reboots itself and its getting annoying.
i thought it was an issue with the phone but i JUST got this replacement phone for these VERY same issues.

anyone got any help.

Try another rom? I've never liked sense. Maybe something 2.3 based with the "smart ass" kernel. I am on cm7 with the.30 radio. with normal use I get about 18 hours, light use 30 hours, HEAVY use about 5-6.
