I rooted and put "Official Froyo HTC Sense ROM". Seems to work fine, however, I have a feeling that battery life is worse, especially when using the net. However, maybe it's just in my head. What are your experiences with battery life after upgrading to 2.2?

And please, don't make silly "I surfed the web for 12 hours and still have 25% left" claims :)

Also, I'm not interested in other ROMs, as I want a clean sense experience with no modifications (as close as possible to the way HTC made it)

So - 2.2 and battery life: same, worse or better than on 2.1 that came with your Desire?

I have just switched to a different version of 2.2 & even leaving gps, wifi, & mobile broadband switched on i can get between 2.5 & 4 days between charges.
I have noticed no difference between 2.1 & 2.2 for battery life, my phone has been running & being used for 45 hours & has still got 46% battery.

I want your battery please. Ive tried Leedroid today amd found the battery to be very bad. especially when surfing it goes down 1% every few mins when on the web, could be a problem with my bettery but I'm not sure. How can you test if your battery has damaged cells?

Did you charge your battery & wait till your phone bleeps till you recharged it the first few times.
I find batteries always seem to last longer then, it has worked on every phone i have had.

    Underclock using SetCPU.

You should see an improvement in battery life.

Just took your advice and purchased from the Market. Now how to use it? :D Do you have any settings I can use to try and help with the battery life? Cheers.

2 to 4 days?? WOW. I've never got between a day to a day and half... I can see the battery level go down right in front of my eyes as I use the phone :(

Ok first thing to do is set up some profiles.

    I use this:

Charging full, priority 100, 998 max
Screen off, Priority 100, 384 Max
    Battery <30%, Priority 90, 614 Max
    Battery <50%, Priority 80, 691 max
    Battery <60%, Priority 70, 768 max
    Battery <75%, Priority 60, 806 max
    Battery <85%, Priority 50, 844 max
    Battery <90%, Priority 40, 883 max

Leave the "Main" tab as is.

One thing to remember is that HTC uses perflock to reset the CPU, which overrides the profiles. So when you boot the phone, go into Set CPU and press Menu>disable perflock then go into profiles, untick enable then re-tick it.

This seems to work for me.

2 days is normally making approx 1 hour of calls around 30 text messages browsing the internet 20 minutes & generally messing around with the phone playing a few games.
