How long does your battery last? Mine dies out pretty quickly. Are there any apps or anything that can make it last longer? And is it just my phone(LG ALLY)? Thank you

It's a bit of both, your phone and what kind of apps you have that's running on your phone. You need to give us more detail of the battery life you have and how you use your phone. You can look at battery use setting (settings->about phone->battery use) and see what app is using your battery.

I've moved your thread to the Ally forum since you can get a bettery comparison with other Ally users.

My battery lasts me at least two days, but admittedly I am not a power user. Mostly my phone is used for making phone calls, some light texting and internet and for the Navigation feature. At night, I might fire up a game or two just to kill time

Some of the things i've done is I turned down my screen brightness to the minimum setting because indoors it's bright enough. When i'm outdoors, I use the Power Control widget to turn it up one setting by tapping it once. I also keep GPS, BlueTooth and Wifi off. I only turn the GPS on when I need it to navigate to a customers house. Since I don't use my phone for Twitter, Facebook or email, I have also turned off the autosync feature. Lastly, I rooted my phone and removed most of the stock apps that load and run on startup even if I never use them. That way i'm not wasting any power trying to run apps I never use because they don't exist on my phone anymore.

While i'm sure my good battery life has something to do with some of the power saving things i've done, I have to believe it's mostly due to the fact that I don't use my phone as much in a day as a typical person does.

yeah that sounds about right, you can use titanium backup to remove those apps(a rooted app).... you can also use setcpu (a rooted app) and save even more power with their custom profiles. i can get my overclocked ally to run close to 4 days without charging. bty i leave auto-sync on cuz it barely uses any power and it is nice to have on cuz it backs up your contacts too(i don't use facebook or twitter).
Bluetooth on Wifi on = Ally battery off lol

    heres my setcpu profile
    charging full 768max 320min on-demand 50%
    battery<80% 748max 320min on-demand 50%
    battery<65% 600max 245min Conservative 50%
    battery<30% 320max 122min Power Save 50%
    battery<10% 122max 122min Power Save 50%

Mine used to last only 6-8 hours, but recently I have been getting 15-16 hours out of it. I think this is normal considering the fact that I'm on it nearly all day. I believe there is a period of "breaking in" for the battery.

It's a combo of everything. I can burn through the battery quick if multi tasking with the GPS and camera, etc but I can also make it last a while if I just send a few texts.

so right ... ive drained mine in 6 hours playing snes.... i love metroid lol...im such a tool.
the setcpu is nice though cuz you get to pick how fast you phone runs so when you don't use it it isn't running at 600mhz all the time.
